A Student Using Education Statistics

I have looked a the National Center for Education Statistics site that you suggested, the problem is that it has so many statistics and tables it is hard to navigate through to the specific information one is searching for. Although I could not find exactly what I was looking for I did find some extremely useful data.

In answer to your question, I am currently an education major taking courses at X College. In one of my classes we were discussing the fact that only 1/3 of teachers currently employed are men. In researching the topic I began to think of the male teachers I had as a student; the fact that I had never had, say a male home economics teacher or a female shop teacher. Nor had anyone I talked about this topic with. This lead me to wonder if some of the traditionally held gender roles in our society translated in any way to the subjects that each taught.

Thank you very much for responding to my email - I appreciate it.

I also want to say I enjoy your website, although I did not find those particular statistics I found other information that was a great help with my research. I have passed on the name of the website to my male colleagues and classmates as a useful resource.
